| ACPA recognizes that colleges and universities provide students with the knowledge they need to make an impact in their personal, civic and professional lives. By educating them about the principles of sustainability, students can make positive changes in society by making responsible choices that help create healthy environments, social justice, and strong economies.
The Boston 2010 Annual Convention Team is supporting the sustainability effort of ACPA by assessing how best to reduce the Annual Convention’s negative impact on the environment, economy and society. As a result, one of our goals is to make individual programs more sustainable.
When preparing your materials for your program:
• Instead of providing handouts, consider collecting email addresses from program participants and send them the program materials electronically after the Convention. Or post the materials on a Web site.
• If you distribute paper materials, reduce the item’s impact by printing on 100% post consumer recycled paper, paper labeled as FSC (Forest Stewardship Council), use both sides of the paper, or decrease the size of the paper used.
• Provide 2 large print copies for anyone who may need to see the lecture notes.
• Be prepared to have your resources available to send someone as an attachment at the convention prior to your session if they need to use their computer for brail transfer.
We hope you will consider this request as you prepare for ACPA Boston 2010 Annual Convention.
