Traveling to Boston

Airport

Boston is home to one major airport, Logan International Airport (BOS), located in East Boston, serving most major airlines.  T.F. Green Airport (PVD) in Providence, Rhode Island and Manchester-Boston Regional Airport also service the greater Boston region. However, Logan International is the largest and most convenient, located only 5.5 miles from Hynes Convention Center.
Traveling to the Convention Center from Logan is easy. Boston provides free (yes FREE!) subway service (via the Silver Line) into Boston from the airport. Take the Silver Line to South Station (red line) and take an inbound (Alewife) train to Park Street (green line).  Switch to the Green Line (any line) to Copley station, or take the Green Line “E” train to Prudential Station (most convenient for those staying at the Sheraton, Westin, or Midtown hotels).

Airport Shuttle

MassPort runs a Logan Express Shuttle to Back Bay–$7.50 each way, or $3 each way with an MBTA pass.  Credit or debit only, no cash accepted. Convenient for those staying at the Sheraton or Westin, as stops are made at the Hynes Convention Center and at Copley Square.

Local Train

MBTA or “The T” runs from 5 am-12 am daily. We recommend purchasing a 7-day pass if you are planning to be out and about in the city. You can purchase a single ride, round trip, 1-day, or 7-day pass from any MBTA fare machine in the stations
The MBTA Trip Planner is quite helpful if you need specific directions. Google is also quite reliable (select the train icon), and has a feature showing public transportation on the map.

Accessible Travel Options

The RIDE provides accessible transportation. Please note it may take up to 21 days for eligibility review, so please plan ahead.
Accessibility at each MBTA station can be reviewed by clicking on each station here on the MBTA Website.

Taxis & Rideshare

  • Taxis, Uber, and Lyft are all available in Boston.
  • A taxi, Uber or Lyft from the airport to Back Bay will likely cost you around $35-45 (depending on time of day, traffic, etc.).
