Print and complete the Professional Outcomes Self-Assessment Instrument to identify educational sessions associated with each of the outcomes.

The 2008 ACPA Convention in Atlanta will offer attendees the opportunity to be more intentional about their professional development. For the past year, the Convention Planning Committee has been focused on creatively and purposefully bringing to life the theme, Professionalism with Purpose: Advancing Inclusion and Expertise. We are honored to have three distinguished keynote speakers whose lives and professional accomplishments personify the convention theme.

To get the most from your convention experience, the Convention Planning Team recommends that you:

• Make time to self-assess your professional development needs in each of the 10 Professional Outcomes areas.
• Prior to or immediately upon your arrival at the convention, take time to review the program offerings. The convention program schedule will be available on-line in March, and a printed version will be given to all attendees when they check in at the convention. The description of each educational program in the convention program will identify  one or two Professional Outcomes areas addressed by that session.
• Using your self-assessment results, identity and plan on attending sessions and events that will address the Professional Outcome areas in which you wish to build your knowledge and skills.

Taking time to complete the assessment and reviewing the program schedule in March will allow you to intentionally choose convention activities that will build your professional repertoire in areas important and relevant to your career.
