Q. What are the best sources ongoing sources of information about the 2008 Convention?
A. This Web site is the primary sources of communication about ACPA 2008 in Atlanta. It will be regularly updated, so check it periodically to review new and more detailed information that has been added. Also, members of the ACPA 2008 Convention Planning Team may be of assistance. Or subscribe to the ACPA Atlanta 2008 RSS feed. RSS is a syndication feed which allows the user to take control of the information they want to receive, and allows near-real-time updates of the information important to them. There are several different formats of RSS available. ACPA uses RSS 2.0 specifications.
Q. What are the registration deadlines for the 2008 Convention in Atlanta?
A. Convention registration dates are listed on the registration section. Early-bird registration ends on January 31, 2008; regular registration ends February 28, 2008. Early-bird and regular registration can be done online, by mail, or fax by the stated deadlines. After the regular registration ends on February 28th, registration must be done on-site in Atlanta.
Q. When is the last day for candidates and employers to register for Placement and Career Services at the 2008 convention in Atlanta?
A. All placement candidates must be first registered for the convention. Information about placement registration deadlines and policies, placement registration forms, rates, and a schedule of professional development workshops and can be found on the Placement section of this Web site.
Q. Can I register on-site?
A. After regular registration closes on February 28, 2008, registration can be done on-site for the Convention and Placement and Career Services.

Q. Can those who are not members of ACPA attend the convention?
A. Yes, although the registration rate is slightly higher. The on-line conference registration system provides the opportunity for non-members to join ACPA as well as for members to renew their membership as they are registering for the convention in Atlanta.
Q. Can I pay with a purchase order?
A. No. Payment can be made by check, money order, or credit card (MasterCard, Visa or American Express). Purchase orders will not be accepted. A service/processing fee of US$ 35 per registration will be assessed for returned checks, or changes in payment method or credit card after initial payment is processed.
Q. Can I cancel my convention registration?
A. To cancel a Convention or Next Generation registration and request a refund, a written request (e-mail is acceptable) must be sent to info@acpa.nche.edu or faxed to 1.202.296.3286. Telephone requests will not be honored. Refund checks or credits will be issued four to six weeks after the Convention. A refund request received or postmarked by January 31, 2008 will receive a full refund minus a US$ 35 handling fee.
A refund request received or postmarked between February 1 and February 28, 2008 will receive a refund equal to 50% of the appropriate registration fee. A refund request received or postmarked after February 28, 2008 will not be honored. Past Presidents Breakfast, Awards Luncheon, and Pre-Convention Workshop fees will be refunded in full if written request is received or postmarked by February 28, 2008. After February 28, 2008, no refund is available. Fees for Placement and Career Service registration, positions listing(s), and table(s) are not refundable.
Q. How do I make hotel reservations?
A. Hotel registration opened on Thursday, November 15, 2007. Reservations should be made directly with the convention hotels, the Hyatt Regency and the Marriott Marquis. Contact information and rates are listed on the hotel & travel section of this Web site.

Q. Where is Placement & Career Services being held?
A. This year, placement will be housed in AmericasMart Atlanta Merchandise Mart Building 1, which is located across the street from the Hyatt Regency. The facility was just renovated and candidates and employers alike will find the accommodations comfortable and suited to their needs.
Q. What career development workshops will be available to placement candidates?
A. Schedule of the placement orientation sessions and career workshops is already available in the Placement section of this Web site.
Q. What are the Professional Outcomes and how do I use them to plan my convention experience in an intentional way?
A. The 2008 ACPA Convention in Atlanta will offer attendees the opportunity to be more intentional about their professional development. The call for programs was organized around 10 Professional Development Outcomes. In early March, you will be able complete a brief self-assessment, which will be made available on the convention Web site. This will allow you to identify which of the 10 outcomes areas you might choose to focus on during the convention. Finally, the convention program booklet will identify the one or two professional outcomes to which each educational session is related.
